Don’t worry—here’s a proven way to stop your dog from jumping on you and keep your clothes clean. Enjoy!

Weekly Bite

Aki used to love jumping on me and my family whenever he got excited.

It’s hard not to love puppy hugs.

While it was cute at first, my clothes quickly became littered with evidence of how easy it is to excite him.

Fortunately, he’s only 5 months old, so he’s not heavy enough to knock us over.

But…

He’s tall enough to reach his favorite ChuckIt Ball on countertops!

How to Stop Your Dog from Jumping

To teach Aki to stop jumping, I set a clear rule.

  1. Whenever he jumps, I say “Off” in a firm voice while.

  2. I gently raise my knee 🦵 to block him.

  3. If he stops jumping, I praise him.

  4. If not, I say “No” and 🔁.

This way, he learned that “Off” = four paws on the ground.

And how do I know it’s working? A lot less laundry.

Now that he’s catching on, I’m expanding this rule to counter tops stacked with tempting toys.

Like his favorite ChuckIt Ball.
